STEP 1: The skin is professionally cleaned and disinfected using advanced protocols
STEP 2: Medical Grade Liquid Carbon Lotion is applied which penetrates the pores. (The lotion resembles and feels like a mud mask.)
STEP 3: The laser is then used to target the carbon particles by gently heating them. This causes the killing of bacteria in the pores, stimulates collagen production, and reduces pore size.
STEP 4: As the laser moves across the surface of the skin you will hear the carbon particles “snap” and “pop” off the face. You will also feel the warmth and mild tingling.
*The procedure is comfortable and doesn’t even require a topical anesthetic.
*The treatment time is approximately 30 minutes.
*Suitable for men, women of all ages and all skin types.
The Science Behind Carbon:
Activated charcoal is carbon sediment that’s been treated to give it a sponge structure, with lots of holes. If you zoom into activated charcoal, you can see it has a vast surface area because of this structure. This surface area is ideal for absorbing substances. In medicine, activated charcoal is mostly used in poisoning cases, where poison sticks to the charcoal instead of absorbing into the body.
By default activated charcoal is excellent for soaking up toxins in poisoning, which is why lots of people eat and drink activated charcoal for detox purposes. But why is activated carbon so common and widespread in skincare products now? You may not immediately relate charcoal with healthy skin or skin-care products, but activated charcoal has significant beauty benefits for skin by drawing oil, dirt and other harmful substances from clogged pores due to its adsorption powers. A regular cleanser removes surface dirt and oil using surfactants like detergents. But surfactants don’t get into pores, unlike activated charcoal which can potentially absorb oil from pores so it could draw out dirt within a pore with it. Activated charcoal powder is proven to absorb thousands of times its own mass in harmful substances, which makes it a popular ingredient in facials and in the aesthetic field today.
The Science behind Q-Switch Nd-Yag Laser:
This laser facial is delivered by our newest state of the art Q-switched Nd-Yag Laser machine. This machine produces rapid high-intensity pulses of light with maximum capability for the destruction of debris clogged in the pores and upper layers of skin. The Q-Switched laser pulse lasts a billionth of a second and is concentrated into very powerful pulses. Because their contact with the skin is less than other lasers, Q-Switched lasers are known for not damaging surrounding tissue and causing unwanted side effects.
Q-Switched lasers are perfect for destroying tiny fragments of pigmentation or ink (tattoo removal), stimulate collagen production, and kill bacteria. As the carbon is targeted by this laser, it blasts away dead skin cells, blackheads and effectively exfoliates the skin. The result is softer, radiant skin with reduced pore size and an evener skin tone. Carbon peels also target the deep layers of the skin to stimulate collagen production, which produces firmer skin, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, and leaves skin feeling glowing. The heat generated by carbon peels has additional benefits such as lowering the acne causing bacteria and shrinks the oil-producing glands resulting in fewer breakouts and reducing congested pores. With advanced technology, Q-Switched lasers are used for many conditions today and are the standard for pigmentation removal and skin rejuvenation.
As with all skin treatments, carbon peels should be supplemented by a good skin-care routine, and daily use of a high-spectrum sunscreen. Noticeable results can be experienced after a single treatment, but for maximum long-term results, we recommend regular treatments.
There is NO pain. No downtime.
Just glowing skin which is truly clean.
